NEW DELHI, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) -- Four days after a worker was killed and several foreigners went missing in a blast at Bhushan Steel Plant (BSL) in Dhenkanal district in the east Indian state of Odisha, 42 of the 70 foreigners from the factory moved to the state capital Bhubaneswar Sunday for security reasons due to unrest in the area.

"Forty two engineers and consultants, all Italians, moved to Bhubaneswar on their own as there is no work in the plant due to the unrest after the Nov. 13 mishap," Dhenkanal Superintendent of Police Manoranjan Mohanty said.

In the acident, at least five foreign nationals, including three Chinese, were missing after Wednesday's blast furnace explosion at Bhushan steel plant in the eastern Indian state of Odisha's Dhenkanal district, an official said Saturday.

The foreigners, two from Thailand and three from China, are engineers and were present inside the plant at the time of the blast, the state's Labour and Employees' Insurance Department Minister Bijayshree Routray said in the state capital Bhubaneswar.

The Chinese Consulate in Kolkata is following the situation and finding out who the missing Chinese were, an official of the consulate who told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The explosion occurred Nov. 13 at about 00:10 a.m. in blast furnace No.two of Bhushan Steel Ltd plant in Narendrapur village, about 150 km from the state capital Bhubaneswar.

Plant officials claimed one worker died and 15 others were injured.

The exact figure of deaths in the blast is unknown and trade union officials said 100 were killed in the incident.

The state government began a probe after allegations that the company concealed information regarding the number of dead and injured, and arrested three senior company officials for negligence.

Workers, trade union activists and politicians have been protesting near the plant for days accusing the company and the government of concealing information.

At least 98 people in the same plant have died in accidents since 2005, officials said.
