At least six civilians were wounded Thursday after an explosive device went off below the debris of a house razed to ground during a gunfight between militants and Indian troops in Indian- controlled Kashmir, police said.

The blast took place in Heff-Shirmal village in Shopian district, 62 km south of Srinagar, summer capital of Indian- controlled Kashmir.

"Six civilians were wounded today when an explosive device went off near the yesterday's gunfight site," a police official said.
