Russia plans to export weapons worth of 13.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2012, head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation said Wednesday.
"The 2012 military-technical cooperation target has been set at 13.5 billion dollars," Mikhail Dmitriyev told reporters here. "I am certain that we will meet this target and Russian arms exports will continue to grow at the same pace for several years."
He added Russia had exported 13.2 billion-dollar arms to foreign countries in 2011, among which India was the biggest buyer.
In the foreseeable future, Russian arms exports would be still dominated by aviation, naval and ground force equipment, and air defense products, Dmitriyev said. |
