Fire kills 9 in Russia's Ural region |

At least nine people, including seven children, were killed in a fire in Russia's Ural region of Perm early Friday, according to local reports.
RIA Novosti news agency quoted regional emergencies services as saying that the fire was reported at about 10:15 a.m. local time at a four-story residential building in the village of Mokhovoye.
"Bodies of five boys, two girls and two adults were found on the scene. According to the preliminary information, it was a family that lived in a basement of the four-story residential building," a spokesperson for the services was quoted as saying.
The spokesperson added that these people could had died of carbon monoxide poisoning. However, the cause of the fire remained unknown.
An investigation into the accident was underway. |
