Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-03-30 10:49

People in Russian capital of Moscow on Thursday mourned the victims of twin blasts on metro two years ago.

Mourners came to the Lubyanka and Cultural Park subway stations in central Moscow, where bomb blast occurred, and laid flowers as well as lighted candles at the site of the tragedy.

On March 29, 2010, two deadly blasts, which were set off by female suicide terrorists, hit commuters and passengers at the Moscow stations, killing 40 people and injuring 160 passengers.

Also on Thursday, the Russian Investigative Committee announced that it was continuing to search for people who could have played some role in the bomb attacks.

"The Investigative Committee's main investigations department is continuing the probe into this criminal case, as it possesses information indicating that other accomplices were involved in the terrorist attacks," Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin was quoted by Interfax news agency as saying.

In the two years after the blasts, investigators have questioned more than 500 people, he said.

The identities of all who directly committed the attacks and the organizers are established, Markin said, adding that the explosions were organized by Magomedali Vagabov, one of the leaders of underground groups of terrorists operating in Dagestan.
