The marathon negotiations in Brussels that resulted in a deal to boost growth in Friday dominated headlines in Greek media.
Most local dailies focused on Germany's harsh stance in talks, analogizing it with the European Football Championship.
"She lost at two playfields. She backtracked giving 120 billions euros to South for growth, as (Italian player) Mario Balotelli was pushing Germany out of" the game, said leading newspaper Ta Nea's (The News) headline referring to Italy's national team victory over Germany on Thursday evening.
The reports stressed that the growth pact could help Greece tackle heavy recession and unemployment and overcome the debt crisis that threatens it with a default and exit from the eurozone. Greece has argued for growth-stimulating policies to counter recession deteriorated by austerity for months. |
