| Russian defense minister inspects troops in Vladivostok |

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu inspected a military unit of the Eastern Military District in Vladivostok and will chair a conference on property issues on Thursday.
The minister plans to visit the 155th marines' brigade of the Russian Pacific Fleet, the Varyag guided missile cruiser, a naval hospital and the S. O. Makarov Pacific Naval Institute.
Sergei Shoigu and First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov also held a conference on Defense Ministry property to be passed onto municipal ownership of Vladivostok.
The newly appointed defense minister arrived in Vladivostok on Nov. 21, after his visit to China, where he held talks with his Chinese counterpart Liang Guanglie and met with Chinese President Hu Jintao. |
