Florence Cassez, a French national who was just released by the Mexican Supreme Court, was welcomed at Roissy airport Thursday on her arrival in Paris after 7 years of imprisonment in Mexico.

Boarding on an Air France flight with her father in Mexico City, the French woman touched the soil of France on Thursday afternoon and was received at the Paris airport by French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, her mother and brother, her support committee and many other dignities.

"I have been dreaming of back to france so many times," the freed French woman said to the press after she landed on the ground, adding that she could not believe her dream had come true till the last minute when it arrives.

"I have suffered as a victim for the last seven years," Cassez said. "I think I was innocent, the Supreme Court declared my immediate and absolute freedom."

She said her liberation "is also a great victory for Mexicans in the sense that justice has been done."

She thanked all those who helped achieving her liberation, especially former president Nicolas Sarkozy, "He saved my life", she said.

Cassez was arrested in 2005 in Mexico on an alleged kidnapping charges and sentenced in 2008 for a 96-year imprisonment. On March 3, 2009, her sentence was reduced to 60 years, the maximum sentence in Mexico.

The break of her case provoked a diplomatic crisis in 2011 between France and Mexico, which had led to the cancellation of the cultural event "Year of Mexico" in France as then-president Sarkozy decided to dedicate the event to the imprisoned French woman.

Mexico's Supreme Court on Wednesday overturned her conviction on kidnapping charges and ordered her immediate release from prison.

The announcement was widely hailed in France. President Francois Hollande's office immediately released a statement Wednesday night, saying the president "welcomes the decision of the Supreme Court of Mexico" to cancel Cassez's sentence and order her immediate release.

The president is scheduled to receive Cassez and her family Thursday evening.
