Turkish, Russian FMs discuss Iran nuclear talks on phone

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu held a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Saturday over the ongoing talks of Iran's nuclear program, said a Turkish diplomat.

Davutoglu and Lavrov discussed on the Iran's nuclear talks with the permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany, also known as P5+1 countries, which began in Geneva on Thursday, said the diplomat on condition of anonymity.

Davutoglu said he was pleased that Iran's nuclear talks were making progress, adding that Turkey always supports peaceful resolution to Iran's disputed nuclear program, according to the diplomat.

Lavrov appreciated Turkey's constructive attitude toward Iran's nuclear talks, expressing the willingness of keeping close contact and cooperation.

The two ministers also talked about Syria crisis and Geneva II conference.
