French President Francois Hollande and U.S. President Barack Obama are determined to obtain from Iran guarantee that it definitely renounces its military nuclear program, the French president's office Elysee said on Wednesday.

"The two heads of state expressed their common determination to obtain from Iran guarantees that it definitely renounces its military nuclear program," said Elysee in a statement after a phone call between the two leaders.

"It's thereafter Iran who should give its positive reply," the statement said.
