Heavy fog disrupts flights at Sarajevo airport
A number of flights were canceled on Monday at the Sarajevo International Airport due to heavy fog.
Several flights, both departures and arrivals, were canceled while some other flights were delayed due to the persisting heavy fog since Sunday night, local media reported, quoting officials at the airport.
The canceled included the flights to Belgrade, Zagreb, Vienna, Istanbul, Zurich and Ljubljana, it reported.
Weather condition was better in the afternoon, allowing some flights to depart according to the schedule.
The bad weather, combined fog and smog, has reduced visibility and disrupted traffic in the past several days in Sarajevo. Heavy fogs are not uncommon in Sarajevo, a city surrounded by mountains.
