Four workers were injured, with one in critical situation, when a structure supporting the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre's tent's lighting collapsed on Monday morning.
The lighting structure, which was in Ta' Qali, some 11.7 km from Valletta, Capital of Malta, was being set up to power the Gensna rock musical, according to local report.
Emanuel Ronayne, a 48-year-old father of two, suffering serious chest injuries. He was reported to be in danger of dying.
Three others are being treated for light bruises and shock by emergency medics on site.
The convention centre had only just finished hosting a fair for clothing directly on sale from warehouse stocks, but exhibitors are believed to have removed all exhibits.
The damage to the lighting equipment and a big screen was described as extensive and costly.
