The eastern Ukraine crisis was on top of the agenda during a meeting between Finnish Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen and visiting Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Roiva on Tuesday.

Katainen said tensions in the eastern Ukraine have not yet triggered tougher European Union sanction against Russia, but that could be touched off by any military intervention by Russia.

The discussion between the leaders also focused on bilateral relations, as well as the upcoming European elections, the European economy and industrial policies.

Roiva, who took office on March 26, is currently in his first official visit to Finland. During the trip, he also met Finnish President Sauli Niinisto.
