A 19-truck convoy, carrying relief aid from Slovenian individuals and organizations, went on Tuesday to Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina where many regions had the biggest flood in a century.

The latest humanitarian assistance includes bottled water, food, toiletries, nappies, sleeping bags and clothes.

Prior to this, the Slovenian government had sent two helicopters and civil rescue teams to the disaster areas of the two countries.

In the past few days, several non-governmental organizations in Slovenian also sent lorries with food and other necessities to the stricken areas.

Swollen floods swept large part of Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina after days of heavy rains early last week.

More than 50 people were reportedly killed and thousands of people have been displaced in the Balkans flooding.

In response to request from the two countries, massive charity effort is being made across Slovenia.

Slovenia is ready to response to any potential request from the disaster areas, the caretaker government headed by outgoing Prime Minister Alenka Bratusek said.
