The Prince of Asturias and future King of Spain will be crowned on June 19 at the Spanish parliament, local media reported on Friday.

The ceremony will take place at the Spanish parliament one day after his father, the current king Juan Carlos of Borbon who abdicated on Monday, sanctions the law on his abdication.

King Juan Carlos will sanction the law firstly, in the Palacio Real (Royal Palace), where other important events on Spain's history took place. Afterwards, the law will be sanctioned in the parliament.

On the day of the prince's coronation as Felipe VI, he will speak about his ideas for his reign as the head of State and Supreme Head of the Armed Forces. That day there will not be members of other Royal Houses at the Parliament or other international leaders and it remains unknown whether his sisters and parents will be there.

After the coronation there will be a military parade in his honor. It seems that a mass will not take place after the coronation, as there was when his father was crowned.

Following these events, the new King and Queen of Spain, Felipe and Letizia, will visit some places in Spain and other countries during the summer.
