Major Russian, Chinese, Turkish, Israeli and Austrian companies expressed their interest in public private partnership projects for highway renovation in Crimea, Russia's Federal Road Transport Agency, Rosavtodor, said on Wednesday.

"There is a really huge amount of work in Crimea," the Itar- Tass news agency quoted a senior official of Rosavtodor as saying.

"Three main traffic arteries can be renovated - the highways connecting Kerch, Simferopol and Sevastopol, alongside Simferopol and Dzhankoy, and the most technically difficult highway along the Crimean southern coast from Alushta to Yalta."

Moreover, acting head of the Crimea republic Sergey Aksyonov said Wednesday that Crimea is ready to attract international investments.

Strategies and programs were launched to boost investments in the republic, RIA Novosti news agency quoted Aksyonov as saying.

Crimea plans to present its investments projects during the Sochi foreign investment fair to be held in September and the Beijing fair in October, such as the 3-billion-dollar construction project of ports in the east Crimean city of Kerch.

On March 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a treaty to integrate Crimea and its city of Sevastopol into Russia, following a referendum which found that a large majority of Crimeans supported the affiliation. However the results of the popular vote have not been recognized by the majority of the countries.
