Slovakia sent on Wednesday material aid to migrants on the Hungary-Serbia border, confirmed an organisation in charge of the delivery.

Brano Tichy, director of the non-profit organisation People in Peril Association (PIPA) said the aid included soaps, shampoos, tents, blankets, shoes, baby strollers and clothing.

Refugees in Hungarian border town of Roszke are to receive the first delivery of material aid on Wednesday evening.

"We collected four kinds of items - hygiene products such as shampoos and soaps, also items such as sleeping bags, foamy sheets, tents and blankets. We also collected shoes - as there's a lack of them, and also baby strollers and children's clothing," added Tichy.

The organisation announced a donation for refugees last week - both material and financial. The sum has reached 25,000 euros (28,000 U.S. dollars) and is increasing.

"The money will be used directly for the purchase of things that are not suitable for transportation, such as the purchase of food, water and other things," concluded Tichy.
