Car bomb explosion kills one, injures two in Iran
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-01-11 14:29

A car bomb exploded in a square in northern Tehran Wednesday, killing one university teacher and wounding two others, local Press TV reported.

The dead was identified as a professor of the Tehran University, said local media.

Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported that an assailant on a motorcycle stuck a bomb on the side of the car of Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan on Wednesday morning, killing the professor and injuring two people inside.

The incident took place near Gol Nabi Street in north Tehran, said the report.

It was not immediately clear if Ahmadi was involved in Iran's nuclear program, or in what department he was teaching. However, several Iranian nuclear scientists have been assassinated in recent years.
