Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-01-28 21:51

Turkish Foreign Ministry Saturday condemned the bomb attack that killed 31 people and wounded 60 others in the southeastern part of Iraqi capital Baghdad on Friday.

"We strongly condemn this treacherous terrorist attack which targeted a funeral procession that included women and children. We wish mercy upon those who lost their lives in the attack, extend our condolences to the bereaved families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to those injured," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"On this sad occasion, we would like to strongly reiterate that Turkey will always act in full solidarity with the friendly and neighborly Iraqi people in combating terrorism," the ministry said.

Violence in Iraq has been seeing increase since U.S. forces completed their pullout on Dec. 18, 2011.
