Israel on Tuesday is reportedly sending a criminal investigation unit to the Georgian capital, where local police defused an attempted car bomb against the Israeli embassy.

The car bomb was found on Monday in a motor vehicle driven by a Georgian national, Roman Khachaturian, a driver of the Israel embassy. It was defused by police's bomb specialists.

Georgian presidential spokesperson, Manana Manjagaladze, on Tuesday told a routine briefing that it was the most important priority for the country's law enforcement to investigate the car bomb attempt.

"An investigation has been launched into the case," said the spokesperson, adding the Ministry of Internal Affairs was actively engaged in the investigation.

Also on Monday, a car bomb, also targeting Israeli diplomats, went off in New Delhi and injured some of the four people traveling in a car. The injured included the wife of an Israeli diplomat stationed in the Indian capital.
