Israeli war jets strike southern Gaza
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-02-26 11:56

Israeli war jets struck the Gazan town of Rafah on Saturday night, causing severe damages but no injuries, according to medical sources.

Witnesses said Israeli war jets fired two air-to-ground missiles at a cement storage facility on the outskirts of the southern town, adding that two big explosions were heard and columns of smoke were seen in the area.

Ambulances and firefighters rushed to the scene but no injuries were reported.

The air strike was carried out shortly after Gaza militants fired several projectiles into southern Israel, according to Israel Radio.

An Israeli army spokesman told the radio that the projectiles caused no damages or casualties.

Acts of hostility remain between Israel and Gaza militants despite that an Egypt-brokered ceasefire is in force.
