Israeli war jets strike on southern Gaza, no injuries
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-03-15 15:40

Israeli war jets struck southern Gaza city on Wednesday night, with two huge explosions heard but no injuries reported, witnesses and medical sources said.

The witnesses said that Israeli war jets hovered over Gaza City and two successive blasts were heard, adding that two Israeli missiles hit an empty orchard in southern Gaza City.

Ambulances and firefighters rushed to the scene, but no damages or injuries were reported following the Israeli aerial attack on the area, medical sources said.

This is the second Israeli aerial attack on Gaza following an understanding of calm, brokered by Egypt between Israel and Gaza militants early Tuesday.

Despite the calm understanding following four days of fighting that left 26 Palestinians killed and 80 wounded, unknown militants fired rockets on southern Israel on Tuesday night and again on Wednesday night.

On Tuesday night, Israeli war jets struck two targets in the Gaza Strip, including a wood store in Gaza city.

Israeli army officials said that Israeli forces will retaliate every rocket fired from Gaza, while Gaza's militant leaders said they are ready to expand the range of rockets fired on Israel from the coastal enclave ruled by Hamas.
