| Iran's IRGC is replicating US RQ-170 drone |

The aerospace commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said that Iran has started building the copy of the U.S. RQ-170 drone downed by the country last year, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported on Sunday.
Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said that the experts of IRGC's aerospace division are also recovering data from the drone, said the report.
In December 2011, Iranian media reported that the Iranian military downed the U.S. RQ-170 stealth aircraft in the eastern part of Iran after finding it transgressing the eastern border. The country's state TV later showed the footage of the drone. |
