Explosions were heard near the border fence in Khan Yunis area of Gaza on Tuesday noon, a local private news service reported.

Israeli residents living near Gaza said six to seven Israel Air Force fighter jets were hovering over the coastal enclave.

The Israeli Defense Forces spokesman's unit was not immediately available for comment.
