Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-05-15 20:30

A senior Iranian naval commander said the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) is fully prepared to repel any act of aggression against the country, the local satellite Press TV reported on Tuesday.

IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said Monday that the forces enjoy full control over the region and can monitor the enemies' moves so that they cannot pursue their objectives, according to the report.

He also noted that Tehran has been seeking to establish collective security measures in the region without the presence of any outside power.

Deputy commander for operation of the IRGC Ground Forces Gholam- Ali Gholamian said Sunday that the IRGC Ground Forces planed to hold three-day massive military maneuvers in the northeastern parts of the country in the coming days.

"This military drill, dubbed Ja'far Tayyar, will be held with the purpose of maintaining the preparedness and promoting the combat capability of the units stationed in the region," Gholamian was quoted as saying by Press TV.
