Lebanon urges UAE, Qatar to reconsider travel warnings
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-05-19 20:53

Lebanese Foreign Affairs Minister Adnan Mansour urged Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) embassies to withdraw their call on citizens to avoid travel to Lebanon in light of the deteriorating security situation there, the National News Agency reported.

Mansour was quoted as calling on Qatar and the UAE to reconsider their decision as the situation in Lebanon does not entail such measures.

The UAE on Saturday urged its citizens to avoid travel to Lebanon, where sectarian violence linked to the unrest in Syria has left 10 people dead.

"The UAE foreign ministry has urged its citizens not to travel to Lebanon until the tense security situation there is cleared," the UAE foreign ministry said in an English-language statement.

Qatari foreign ministry also issued travel warnings over Lebanese security situation in order to guarantee the safety of its citizens.
