A Palestinian was killed and another injured when working in smuggling tunnels beneath Gaza's southern borders with Egypt, medical sources said Sunday.
A worker fell in the nearly 20-meter-deep shaft of tunnel and died at the scene, the medical sources said, adding in another tunnel, a worker was seriously injured by electric shock.
On Thursday, a Palestinian worker suffocated to death in a tunnel.
Last year, 24 Palestinians died in accidents in the tunnels which had been Gaza's lifeline when Israel's blockade against the territory was in its height between 2007 and 2010. |
