Lebanese Foreign Affairs Minister Adnan Mansour said Monday that calls of Qatar, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain and Kuwait to withdraw their citizens from Lebanon is temporary and related to the current security situation.
The Kuwaiti foreign affairs minister stressed that his country' s decision is temporary, Mansour told the NBN TV, adding the same goes for the Emirates.
Mansour said he had met with Qatar Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa "and called on him to reconsider the decision as the situation in Lebanon does not entail such measures."
"Sometimes, media reports distort truth," Mansour said.
The UAE, Bahrain and Qatar Saturday warned their citizens to avoid travel to Lebanon and urged those already in Lebanon to leave the country concerning clashes linked to the situation in neighboring Syria, which have left 10 people dead. Kuwait announced on Monday a similar decision. |
