At least five Palestinian refugees were injured Monday following clashes with the Lebanese army soldiers in a refugee camp in northern Lebanon, security source said.
The source told Xinhua that hundreds of Palestinians stormed a Lebanese army post stationed at the entrance of the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp with stones and torched an army vehicle.
The angry Palestinians were participating in the funeral of a young refugee who was shot dead by the soldiers Friday while protesting against the arrest of his two fellows, according to the source.
The Lebanese soldiers then used tear gas grenades and fired gunshots to disperse them.
In 2007, the Lebanese army forces engaged in a three-month battle with the terrorist group Fatah al-Islam near the Nahr al- Bared Palestinian camp. |
