Lebanese Interior Minister Marwan Charbel vowed Tuesday to apprehend attackers of Al-Jadeed television station.

Charbel told Al Joumhouria daily in an interview that five remaining assailants on the pan-Arab Al Jadeed TV would be arrested after the security forces managed to arrest one of the gang.

The arrested assailant, identified as Wissam Alaeddine, was a wanted man and had been apprehended by the army's intelligence service Monday night.

On Monday, a group of assailants attacked Al-Jadeed's headquarters in Beirut's Wata al-Msaytbeh, hit a number of security guards and burned tires on the television station's property.

The Lebanese interior minister said that he had telephoned Hezbollah and its ally, Lebanese Shiite group the Amal Movement, adding that the two groups had condemned the attack against the television station and said they did not cover up for anyone.
