Hamas government's Prime Minister Ismail Haneya called on Egypt Wednesday to allow commercial trade through Rafah crossing point on Gaza-Egypt border, local media said.
Haneya explained what his government needs from the new Egyptian administration, saying that the crossing should be open 24 hours, calling on free movement of goods.
Gaza got its commercial goods through crossing points with Israel that were closed and only allowed only humanitarian goods when Hamas took over Gaza by force in 2007.
Now the crossing operates nine hours a day since President Mohamed Morsi was sworn in last month. |
