Israel's Counter-Terrorism Bureau on Thursday issued a travel advisory for all Israelis staying in the Sinai Peninsula to return home due to high risk of terror attacks against tourists.

The bureau advises not to travel to the area, very popular among Israelis wanting to enjoy the beach, since it has obtained evidence that terror organizations are planning attacks and abductions in the Sinai, the Ynet news site reported.

The warning comes amid a string of attack attempts by terror organizations thriving in the peninsula due to lack of control in the area.

Last month, the chief of Israeli military intelligence said that the army foiled more than 10 militant attacks that were planned to be launched from there.

Israel's security establishment has voiced concerns about the growing lawlessness in the Sinai, a vast desert region that flanks Israel's western border.
