NAM slams Israel for banning ministers from entering West Bank
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-08-06 05:31

The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Ministerial Committee on Sunday slammed Israel for banning several ministers from entering Ramallah in the West Bank.

At a press conference in Amman, Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr condemned Israel for banning four ministers from participating in a Non-Aligned Movement conference scheduled to be held in Ramallah.

The meeting was cancelled in light of the Israelis measure, he said.

"By taking this step, Israel violates the international law and this decision will strengthen the movement and its struggle to defend the Palestinians' right in statehood," he said.

The foreign ministers of Algeria, Cuba, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Indonesia were barred by Israel from entering the Palestinian city of Ramallah in the West Bank, leading to the cancellation of the meeting.
