The Israeli army's electronic warfare unit is breaking into live television and radio broadcasts in the Gaza Strip, a military source told Xinhua Monday afternoon.

In the broadcasts, given in Arabic, Israel warned residents to avoid remaining in the presence of Hamas personnel, presumably in order to limit collateral damage to civilians in targeted killings.

"The reports are continuing on an intermittent basis," the source told Xinhua, adding that "they will soon conclude."
