Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr said Monday that Egypt is keeping its communication with the Israeli side on a truce bid, and the results could be seen within days, official MENA news agency reported.

Amr said after his meeting with visiting UN chief Ban Ki-moon that he exchanged viewpoints with Ban on the current conflict between Israel and Hamas, and reviewed with him Egypt's efforts to broker a cease-fire between the two sides.

He noted "we will see the results of these efforts in the coming period."

The foreign minister said "we stressed our stance that we do not accept the bloodshed and killing of civilians to continue," asking Ban, who will leave for Israel Tuesday, to convey this stance to the Israeli side.

During the visit, Ban is also scheduled to meet with Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and Prime Minister Hisham Qandil on regional and international issues, topped by the current conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Ban will also meet with Arab League Secretary-General Nabil al- Arabi Tuesday to discuss the Gaza escalation, before the latter heading for the Gaza Strip with an Arab ministerial delegation for a solidarity visit. Amr is included in the delegation.

According to Palestinian medics, the death toll of the Israeli air raids in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip has climbed to 107 Palestinians as of Monday night.
