Turkish woman injured by mortar shells from Syria
Two mortar shells fired from Syria landed in Turkey's southern province of Hatay on Monday, injuring one woman, private Dogan News Agency reported.
The mortar shells were reportedly fired during the fighting between the Syrian rebels and government forces near a border town, injuring a 50-year-old woman who was walking in Guzelyurt village of Yayladagi town, according to the report.
The injured woman was taken to hospital, said the report.
Turkey, once an ally of Syria, has emerged over the past three years as one of the main backers of Syrian opposition fighters who are fighting to topple Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
