Hosting next year's Group of 20 (G20) summit is both a big opportunity and a huge responsibility for Turkey, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan said on Monday.

Babacan told a press conference in Ankara that his country will follow the guidelines of inclusiveness, implementation and reforms as it hosts the annual G20 meeting.

The G20 brings together the leaders of countries, which represent 90 percent of the world gross domestic product and 80 percent of the global trade, he said.

"When there was a G7 in the past, and when many decisions were being taken on that platform, Turkey felt excluded," he said, adding that "Now we do not want to give that feeling to countries excluded from the G20."

Turkey has chosen to welcome the world leaders in the tourist southwestern province of Antalya, home to its international sea resort.

Turkey aims to render the summit a chance to reach out to low income countries and to take care of countries that are not G20 members in an inclusive way, said Babacan.

He also said that Turkey will work to bridge the gap between developed economies and less developed countries to fight global inequality.

According to Babacan, the 2015 G20 summit will touch on a wide range of topics, including strong, sustainable and balanced economic growth, infrastructure investments, financial regulation, global financial architecture, and financing climate change.

Turkey took over the presidency of G20 from Australia, and China will host the summit in 2016.
