Iran's Foreign Ministry on Thursday strongly condemned deadly bomb attacks killing innocents in Turkey, Press TV reported.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi slammed the bombings in Turkey's southeastern cities and expressed sympathy with the Turkish government and nation.

"As we have repeatedly declared, Iran strongly condemns use of force and any act of violence or terror anywhere, and disapproves of the killing of innocent people and regards that as a crime against humanity," Qasemi was quoted as saying.

"Evil hands" have intensified desperate efforts to create insecurity in the region, especially in Muslim countries, he said, urging governments and people in the region to be vigilant against such destructive and inhumane acts.

Such attacks would not serve the terrorists' inhumane goals and would instead increase unity among people in their fight against such brutal acts, he added.

Five soldiers were killed and six others injured Thursday by a roadside bomb believed to be planted by outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) militants in Turkey's eastern Bitlis province, Dogan News Agency reported.

Also on Thursday, suspected PKK militants killed a villager and wounded a soldier in the area near Nazar village of Hizan district in Bitlis province.

Early Thursday, another bombing near police headquarters in the eastern province of Elazig killed 3 people and injured 217, including 85 police officers.

A car bombing on Wednesday night occurred in the eastern province of Van, killing at least 73 people and injuring many others, including 20 police personnel.
