Greece to get 4 bln euros loan by Monday: EU

Greece will get a 4-billion-euro (about 5.3 billion U.S. dollars) bailout loan from international lenders by Monday, European Commission spokesman Simon O'Connor said on Friday.

O'Connor told a press conference that deputy finance ministers of the 17-country eurozone approved the unlocking of aid funds to Greece in a meeting.

"With the provision that national approval procedures are completed, which we expect to happen by Monday, the disbursement can take place," he said.

Under current plans, Athens is to receive an additional 1.8 billion euros from the International Monetary Fund in August and a further 1 billion euros from its European counterparts in October.

The first 4-billion-euro fund is composed of 2.5 billion euros from the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) and 1.5 billion euros from.
