Japanese carrier All Nippon Airway Holdings Inc. (ANA) said Tuesday that its group net earnings fell into red in the first quarter of fiscal 2013 affected by worldwide grounding Boeing 787 dreamliners and weaker demand on routes between Japan and China.

From April to June, ANA incurred a net loss of 6.64 billion yen (around 67.86 million U.S. dollars), compared with a year earlier profit of 668 million yen (about 6.83 dollars).

High costs of fuel and a weaker yen also weighed on the carriers earnings.

The carrier saw a profit plunge of about 8 billion yen (about 81.76 million dollars) from January to the end of May due to the grounding Boeing 787 jets.

The carrier also said its revenue in international passenger flight operations rose 7.5 percent from a year earlier to 89.5 billion yen (about 914.9 million dollars), while those from the domestic flight service fell 1.3 percent to 147.3 billion yen ( about 1.51 billion dollars) amid fierce competition, said the carrier.
