A "Free Travel to Gozo" weekend is to take place from Nov. 15 to 17, offering free trips for passengers and vehicles on ferry services bewteen Malta's main island and its second largest island Gozo.

The initiative was launched by the Minister for Gozo Anton Refalo to boost the Gozitan economy during the off-peak season.

Refalo said there plans to introduce popular activities such as Betlehem in Ghajnsielem, the carnival in Gozo and other cultural activities.

The weekend of entertainment will take place mainly in Victoria, the capital city of Gozo, with various sports activities taking place at the Gozo Stadium and football pitches around the island.
