The Dutch economy seems to be out of recession as growth returns to positive territory in the third quarter, show figures of the Dutch Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) released on Thursday.

The economy grew 0.1 percent in the third quarter of this year after declines in four consecutive quarters.

"I have the feeling that we are out of the recession. The world economy is recovering and that has always been an important indication for economic growth in the Netherlands," said Klaas Knot, president of Dutch central bank.

According to the CBS, exports climbed 2.1 percent in the third quarter compared with the same period last year.

However, the Dutch economy shrank by 0.6 percent year-on-year, with unemployment figures and household consumption remaining negative.
