Portuguese coffee company Delta Cafes signed a strategic partnership deal with Angolan soft drinks company Refriango on Tuesday.

The Portuguese coffee company has a network of 23 departments, with 35 million clients in Portugal, and expects to sell around 5 million euros (6.95 million U.S. dollars) of Refriango's soft drink Blue.

"This partnership aims to continue the work that has been developed by the Delta Cafes through successful partnerships and to give clients added value," Delta said in a statement.

Delta added that the objective was to "extend its portfolio" and to "strengthen the supply of high quality products."

Delta was founded over 50 years ago by Rui Nabeiro, and sells its products in over 35 countries in five continents and produces over 20 million tons of coffee a year.

For Refriango, leader in alcoholic drinks in Angola, "the partnership represents a big step for the internationalization of the Blue brand, being present in over 10 African countries, including Mozambique, Namibia and South Africa."

Refriango has been selling Blue in the Portuguese market for three years and now expects to multiply its sales by 10.

Delta Cafes will launch the product Blue in June in the Portuguese market and will start off by launching four flavors.
