India says to increase per hectare productivity of crops
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday stressed the need for increasing the country's per hectare productivity of crops in order to meet the increasing demand.
"The land in the country is not going to increase. So we need to increase per hectare productivity," Modi said in the national capital.
The prime minister, who was speaking at a function of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, added "The challenge is how to get what is done in the laboratory to the land, to the farmers."
