Orlen Lietuva, Polish controlled oil refinery in Lithuania, considers buying oil from Ukraine, according to business news daily newspaper Verslo Zinios on Thursday.

The refinery plans attending oil purchasing auctions held by the government of Ukraine this year, reported the daily, citing three different sources in Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine. The State controls oil company Ukrnafta.

According to the newspaper's sources, Orlen Lietuva could refine Ukrainian oil and sell petroleum products back to Ukraine should the price is competitive. Petroleum production from Orlen Lietuva was particularly marketable in recent six months, reported Verslo Zinios.

Lithuania's company declined to comment on conversations with current or potential partners.

Oil refining company Orlen Lietuva wholly owned by Polish oil concern Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN is the only petroleum refinery in the Baltic states.
