German shares close flat Tuesday
German stocks closed flat on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up by 49.98 points, or 0.40 percent, to close at 12,648.19 points.
Deutsche Post won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 4.10 percent. Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer and Deutsche Bank rose by 1.47 percent and 1.39 percent respectively.
Commerzbank lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.67 percent. Personal-care company Beiersdorf and European health care company Fresenius SE went down by 1.63 percent and 0.97 percent respectively.
Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens was the most-traded share with a turnover of 239.42 million euros (277.77 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
