WADA gives green light to London Olympic laboratory
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-04-24 10:26

The World Anti-Doping Agency has accredited Monday the London laboratory that will test athletes at this summer's Olympic Games.

"The WADA accreditation is a green light signal that the lab is ready," said Jonathan Harris, the London organizing committee's anti-doping manager.

The King's College London Drug Control Center, usually dealing with about 8,000 samples per year, has been examined for two years by WADA in nearly every aspect of the lab, including equipment, staff and procedures.

The lab, with the size of seven tennis courts, will run 24 hours a day and test as many as 400 samples per day during the Olympics and Paralympics, in a total of over 6,250, more than at any previous games.
