He Zi wins gold in women's 3-meter springboard

China's He Zi took gold medal in women's 3-meter springboard at the Piscines de Montjuic of Barcelona on Saturday, the eighth gold medal for China in diving at the 15th FINA World Championships.

He Zi scored a total of 383.40 points, followed by her compatriot Wang Han who took silver medal scoring 356.25 points. Canada's Pamela Ware finished third with a total of 350.25 points.

He Zi won gold medal in Melbourne 2007 and London 2012, while taking gold medal in the 1-meter springboard on Tuesday in Barcelona. Her compatriot Wang won silver medal in Shanghai 2011 and bronze in Rome 2009 and on Tuesday in Barcelona.

On the eighth day of the diving competition China got its eighth gold medal of nine events held at the Piscines de Montjuic.

Apart from women's 3-meter springboard, China also won gold medal in women's 3-meter synchronized springboard, men's 1-meter springboard, women's 10-meter synchronized platform, women's 1- meter springboard, 3-meter synchronized springboard, women's 10 meter platform and men's 3-meter springboard.

The only event China did not win gold medal was men's 10-meter synchronized springboard whose champions were Germany's Patrick Hausding and Sascha Klein. Chinese divers Yuan Cao and Yanquan Zhang finished third.
