The roundabout of managerial appointments in Spain' s BBVA Primera Liga continued on Thursday when Valencia based side, Levante confirmed Jose Luis Mendilibar as their new coach.
The club posted the news on its official website stating that Mendilibar had; "reached the basis of an agreement to coach the club for the coming season. The agreement is for the 2014-2015 season with the option to extend the contract for a further year."
Mendilibar was sacked from Osasuna after just three games of last season, which saw the Pamplona based club relegated on the last day of the season. However, he is respected for his work at the club in the previous two and a half years and in a four-year term with Valladolid.
He replaces Joaquin Caparros, who decided not to renew his contract with Levante, opting instead to join Granada on a two-year contract on Wednesday.
Meanwhile after officially confirming that Bernd Schuster will not continue at the club next season, Malaga are expected to name Javi Gracia, who replaced Mendilibar at Osasuna, as their next coach.
