Nigeria's Minister of Sports, Tammy Danagogo, on Tuesday urged the national football team, the Super Eagles, to give their all in their last Group F match against Argentina at the World Cup.

A statement from Danagogo' s Special Adviser on Media, Patrick Omorodion, quoted the minister as saying that the African champions should double their efforts to book their passage to the second round.

"I am happy that the Eagles put the disappointment of the barren draw against Iran behind them to play their hearts out and win against Bosnia-Herzegovina," he added.

"I want them to double their efforts in the last group match against Argentina because the Argentines can be defeated and Iran proved it," he said.

"They should display the kind of Nigerian spirit of rugged determination and commitment like they did against the Bosnian team that some Nigerians had thought would defeat them," the minister said.

"But in all, I am happy that they are improving with every game," Danagogo added.

According to the statement, Danagogo urged Nigerians to keep supporting and praying for the team.

The Super Eagles need at least a draw against the two-time World Cup champions to progress to the competition' s round of 16.

The African champions were held to a 0-0 draw by Iran and recorded a 1-0 win against debutants Bosnia-Herzegovina in earlier matches.
